This program equips you with the skills to engage deeply with God’s Word. At its core is a strong emphasis on Scripture as the ultimate authority for all ministry. You will develop expertise in exegesis, hermeneutics, and biblical analysis, allowing you to apply the Word to contemporary issues and individual lives.

The MDiv in Bible Exposition provides comprehensive training in the art of communicating Scripture, with a clear focus on preaching, teaching, and guiding others in the truth of God’s Word. In addition to rigorous courses in exegesis and hermeneutics, this program equips you with practical skills for teaching Bible studies, preaching, and leading others in biblical instruction. A distinctive feature of the program is its requirement of both Greek and Hebrew, allowing you to engage deeply with the original languages of Scripture, which is essential for accurate interpretation and teaching.

With a holistic approach, the MDiv integrates spiritual formation, intercultural studies, theology, and church history, preparing you for effective ministry in a variety of contexts. Our degree focuses especially on exegesis, the use of the biblical languages in exposition, and special attention to the ancient world context in which the Bible was written, giving you the skills you need for careful interpretation of biblical texts.

Advanced Training in Biblical Communication

This program equips you with specialized training in preaching, teaching, and guiding others to understand and apply the Word of God with clarity and conviction.

Teach & Apply

BIB 5410 - Hermeneutics

In this course, you will explore and defend hermeneutical principles and processes based on evangelical presuppositions of Scripture and authorial intended meaning. You will apply an exegetical method to interpret Old and New Testament passages from a variety of biblical genres and apply them to contemporary settings.

HOM 6300 - Foundations of Biblical Preaching

In this course, you will learn how to prepare and deliver sermons using a variety of homiletical methods that motivate listeners to apply the truth of Scripture to their lives and ministries.

MIN 6344 - Transformational Bible Teaching

In this course, you will examine the teaching-learning process to help you understand how to adapt instructional methods to differing expectations, learning styles, cognitive processes, and social relations of learners in multicultural contexts in order to biblically transform lives.
