From the tiniest cells to entire ecosystems, study the diversity of life with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Columbia International University. The curriculum will prepare you for diverse life science careers by combining foundational courses in biology, chemistry, and physics with advanced studies in biological subdisciplines. While focusing on human biology, students explore the full diversity of life, including animals, plants, and microbes. Laboratory components provide valuable hands-on field and lab skills, reinforcing classroom knowledge.
Graduates are equipped for graduate studies in the biological sciences or careers in fields such as environmental biology, animal care, veterinary medicine, or science education.

An exploration and evaluation of origins theories including evolution and creation models. Emphasis is placed on the origin of life, origin of species, and the origin of man.
An investigation of the structure and function of the eukaryotic cell. Emphasis is placed on molecular organization, gene regulation, organelle structure and function, protein targeting, vesicular transport, cell signaling, and the cell cycle. Hands on laboratory exercises reinforce concepts from lecture.
An exploration of the morphology, physiology, classification, cultivation and control of microorganisms. Emphasis is placed on bacteria and pathogens relevant to human health.
