CIU Rams men’s track and field excelled at the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a national champion.
Cameron Montgomery led the field in the shot put, winning the event with a throw of 17.00 meters. Montgomery also picked up All-American honors in the hammer finishing third.
Meanwhile, the CIU women claimed two national titles.
Coral Curry captured a national championship in the hammer throw with a winning mark of 46.42 meters.
Arion Jefferson added another national title on the track, winning the women’s 200-meter dash in 25.58 while also earning All-American honors as the national runner-up in the 400 meters with a time of 57.64.
In softball, Coach Sara Allen was named NCCAA South Region Coach of the Year after her team took home the NCCAA South Region Title in dramatic fashion with a walk-off home run, earning the Rams a trip to the NCCAA World Series.
