CIU President Dr. Mark Smith is in Guatemala speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast. But he and CIU Executive Vice President Dr. Rick Christman have also had much opportunity for other ministry and for making friends.

Both men were on national radio in Guatemala, answering questions from listeners regarding faith and education. The broadcast reaches potentially millions of listeners in Guatemala and neighboring countries.

They are also being introduced to a number of government leaders, including the minister of education and the minister of foreign affairs, and had dinner with the Guatemalan Chamber of Commerce. They also met with the leader of a Christian university with 20,000 students.

Their tour has included a visit to a prison halfway house where prisoners are turning to Christ.
