CIU Celebrating Record-Breaking Enrollment and Largest Incoming Class

Columbia International University (CIU) is thrilled to announce a record-breaking enrollment this fall, with over 2,900 students pursuing traditional undergraduate, graduate, and online degrees. 

This year’s incoming freshman and transfer class of 238 full-time students is the largest in CIU’s 101-year history. Notably, 63% are from South Carolina with 15 different countries represented. The class is nearly evenly split, with 52% female and 48% male students. The top five majors chosen by these students include Nursing, Business Administration, Sport Management, Teacher Education, and Health Sciences. 

100% of students receive Financial Aid aligning with CIU’s commitment to a welcoming and supportive life-changing academic community, empowering students from various backgrounds to pursue their educational and spiritual goals. 

Some of the incoming students benefitting from CIU’s new scholarship offerings include: 

• 34 received the Parent in Ministry Scholarship, provided to students whose parent is a full-time pastor or missionary. 
• 20 received the Alumni Legacy Grant, given to those with one or both parents who are CIU alumni.
• 14 are entering the Honors Program.
• 43 are First-Generation Scholarship recipients. 

Dr. Jen Booth, Vice President for Enrollment and Academic Services, expressed her excitement about the remarkable new class. 

“The record-breaking enrollment speaks to the significance of that choice, one that puts the Class of 2028 in the best place to prepare for a life of purpose in careers and callings that will transform the world for Christ,” Booth said. “As we celebrate 101 years of CIU, this class reflects our ongoing mission to equip students not only for success in their fields but for meaningful, Christ-centered impact.”

The momentum on campus is palpable, as both students and families recognize the opportunities CIU offers for academic and spiritual growth in this new academic year.

CIU continues its foundational mission to impact the nations with the message of Christ by also adding its largest scholarship offering for online, graduate, and seminary students. Incoming students will soon join over 25,000 alumni changing the world in 150 countries.
