CIU Ambassador Choir sets the holiday spirit for Salvation Army
November 21, 2023
With the singing of “Joy to the World,” The Columbia International University Ambassador Choir brought the spirit of the holiday season to the steps of the South Carolina Statehouse in Columbia.
Just a few days away from Thanksgiving, the Choir sang as the Salvation Army of the Midlands kicked-off their 2023 Red Kettle and Angel Tree campaigns.
Major Mark Craddock with the Salvation Army introduced the Ambassador Choir as “a phenomenal group of musicians… composed of students from all around the world, and includes students from almost every major on the Columbia International University campus who unite to worship Jesus Christ through the beautiful avenue of music. Their style is one that exudes passion, conviction and attention to detail.”
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott and his department was honored with the Bell Ringing Award for the many hours the deputies volunteer to ring the Salvation Army kettle bells. In his remarks, Lott also recognized CIU.
“I am so glad that CIU is out here today,” Lott said. “It’s a great university, and they do such a great job … CIU is about caring about people, spreading God’s message and showing love.”
