The Columbia International University Online Admissions team commemorated National First Responders Day on Oct. 28 by delivering 200 Chick-Fil-A meals to the Columbia Fire Department and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Director of Graduate and Online Recruitment, Scot Boyer, said the firefighters and deputies were extremely grateful for the meals.

“They thanked us for our support in these trying times,” Boyer said.

The Fire Department responded with a tweet:

“We thank staff members at Columbia International University for treating all of our 1st Shift firefighters to a Chick-Fil-A lunch! The generosity you showed was truly incredible!”

The Richland County Sheriff's Department tweeted:

"We have a great friend and community partner in Columbia International University! We’d like to extend a huge THANK YOU to their team for delivering lunch and goody bags to our deputies!"

Last spring, the team also visited Columbia area first responder locations, thanking them with Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
