The Academic Success Center (ASC) at Columbia International University has earned international recognition for its tutoring efforts. The ASC is now certified as a Level 1 tutor training program by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).

The ASC meets the unique needs of every CIU student — from freshmen to graduate and seminary students, including study and discussion groups, test proctoring and free tutoring services.

Lisa Lanpher, Academic Success Center director, says the ASC has worked hard to develop a tutor training program that meets CRLA’s International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) peer review process.

“Achieving certification means that Academic Success Center has met CRLA’s high standards for tutor selection, training, direct service, and evaluation as an integral part of their overall tutoring program,” Lanpher said.

For more than 30 years CRLA has been a leader in learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs with almost 1,300 members and over 2,000 certified training programs worldwide.

CIU is celebrating 100 years of its mission to “educate people from a biblical worldview to impact the nations with the message of Christ." The university consistently ranks among the Top Regional Universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, as well as a Best Value Regional University in the South. Apply now or request information on enrollment by contacting Admissions at (803) 807-5024 or admissions@ciu.edu.
