Professor Brooker has served in a variety of roles on campus since 2007 and joined the faculty as a Professor of Nutrition in 2018. She brings a holistic, whole-person approach to health and wellness through her teaching, emphasizing the connection between nutrition, lifestyle, and long-term well-being.
She holds credentials as a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and is a Licensed Nutritionist. Professor Brooker is passionate about educating the next generation on the principles of functional medicine, with a focus on root-cause healing while using nutrition to fight disease and support gut health. She extends this work beyond the classroom through workshops and also serves as a Faculty Evaluator for the American Council on Education.
In addition to her academic work, Professor Brooker has participated in several international mission trips, serving in a variety of roles in China, Zambia, Mexico, and Ethiopia. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, working on puzzles, and baking sourdough bread. She and her husband, Jud, have two sons, Myles and Ryder.
