Health & Science Center
Training Caregivers to Save Lives — and Share the Savior of Life
The Problem
Ranked among the top 10 states with severe shortages in healthcare workers, South Carolina faces a projected shorftall of 12,000 nurses and 3,000 physicians over the next 10 years.
Hospitals and clinics everywhere are desperate for caregivers who can meet more than just physical needs. Around the world, patients long for both medical excellence and eternal hope.
The need for trained, Christ-centered healthcare workers is urgent.
The Vision
CIU is answering that call with a new 47,000-square-foot Health & Science Center — a state-of-the-art teaching home designed for simulation labs, skills labs, and team-based learning. This space will prepare students to step into hospitals, clinics, and mission fields with confidence and excellence.
The Center will feature:
180-seat auditorium
and multiple large classrooms.
Expanded nursing skills center
and simulation rooms — allowing us to double the number of nursing students we can train.
Five advanced science labs
a research space, and a human performance lab supporting future programs in exercise science & kinesiology.
Cutting-edge equipment
such as ECG machines, metabolic gas-exchange systems, and training tools to give students real-world readiness.
But more than facilities, this building is designed to build community. Freshmen through seniors, nursing and science faculty, future doctors and caregivers — all under one roof, sharpening skills and faith together.
Our programs are already proving what’s possible. CIU’s Nursing program is ranked #1 in South Carolina and has achieved a 100% NCLEX pass rate (as of September 2025). But our mission goes deeper than test scores. We are preparing healthcare workers who are highly skilled, professionally qualified, and ready to live out their faith in every exam room and every nation.
Why Now? Why CIU?
- The world is waiting: healthcare shortages are growing.
- The mission is eternal: every patient — and their family — needs the hope of Christ.
- CIU is ready: with expanded labs, classrooms, and equipment, we can train twice as many Christ-centered caregivers.
This Center will not only expand our training capacity — it will also draw more students eager to combine medical excellence with eternal hope.
This isn’t just a building project.
It’s a call to impact the nations — equipping students to bring healing, hope, and the message of Christ wherever God leads them.
How You Can Help
Pray
Ask God to bless this project, the students who will be trained here, the professors who teach both health sciences and God’s truth, and the patients whose lives will be changed.
Invest
Honor someone meaningful to you by investing in a space that will prepare Christ-centered caregivers to serve with skill and compassion.
