Dr. Ben Porter, a Columbia International University alumnus, is the new head of school at Ben Lippen, CIU’s Christian Pre-K to 12th grade college preparatory school in Columbia.
Porter has devoted 23 years to education, with the past 15 years serving in various leadership roles at Ben Lippen School, including house parent, athletic director, Lower School principal, and assistant head of school. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from CIU. He is also a 2001 graduate of The Citadel.
Porter expressed his excitement about his new role.
“For the past 15 years, my family and I have been deeply blessed by the love, support, and strong sense of community at Ben Lippen School,” Porter said. “I am truly grateful for the opportunity to lead this school as we uphold its rich traditions of Christian education and continue impacting the nations with the message of Christ.”
Porter will also represent Ben Lippen School as the CIU vice president of Christian Education.
Porter replaces Dr. Tony Fajardo who has taken a position as head of school at King’s Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta, Georgia.
In a letter to the Ben Lippen community, Fajardo said he “is immensely proud to have been a part of the Ben Lippen School community for nearly a decade” calling it “a time filled with growth, learning, deep connections and amazing relationships.”
