Faith-Driven Excellence in Nursing Education
Columbia International University’s (CIU) School of Nursing is celebrating two milestones that showcase its commitment to excellence and Christ-centered education: a 100% NCLEX pass rate among graduates and being named the #1 Nursing School in South Carolina by RegisteredNursing.org.Â
These accomplishments affirm CIU’s reputation as one of the top Christian nursing programs in South Carolina, where faith, rigorous academics, and hands-on experience prepare students to serve patients with skill and compassion.Â
“This is a blessing and a testimony to the hard work of our team, the commitment of our students, and the strong support we receive from the CIU community,” said Angela Conder, Dean of the School of Nursing. “We are deeply grateful to see the fruit of a program designed to shape not just nurses, but Christ-centered leaders in healthcare.”Â
A Christ-Centered Mission in Healthcare
At CIU, nursing education goes beyond technical training. As a faith-based nursing school, the curriculum intentionally integrates Christian values into every aspect of healthcare preparation. Students are taught to provide holistic care—addressing not only the physical but also the emotional and spiritual needs of patients. Â
That mission was powerfully demonstrated this summer when CIU nursing students traveled to the Dominican Republic for a weeklong medical mission trip, ministering to more than 600 patients. Working alongside local healthcare providers, the students offered medical care, health education, and spiritual encouragement—putting classroom knowledge into practice while embodying Christ’s compassion.
Nursing Programs Designed for Impact
The School of Nursing offers two distinct undergraduate pathways for students:Â
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – A traditional, on-campus program preparing students for initial licensure and leadership roles in healthcare.Â
- RN to BSN (Online) – A flexible program designed for registered nurses seeking to complete their degree and expand their career opportunities.
Both programs emphasize small class sizes, personalized mentorship, and clinical experiences in diverse healthcare settings across South Carolina.Â
Clinical Partnerships with Leading Healthcare Providers
CIU’s on-campus BSN program has established affiliation agreements with many of the region’s most respected healthcare providers, offering students exceptional hands-on training opportunities. Clinical partners include:Â
These partnerships ensure CIU nursing students gain real-world experience in diverse care settings, from large hospitals to specialized clinics.Â
Proven Outcomes and Career Readiness
The 100% NCLEX pass rate demonstrates CIU’s strong academic preparation and practical training. Alumni graduate ready to excel in hospitals, clinics, community health organizations, and global missions.Â
CIU nurses stand out for their ability to combine professional excellence with spiritual care—providing whole-person healing that sets them apart in today’s healthcare environment.Â
Scholarships and Support
To make a CIU nursing degree more affordable, the university offers a wide range of scholarships and is part of the innovative BOLD Career Pathways program. Through this partnership, future employers help cover the tuition gap that remains after scholarships and grants, reducing student debt and ensuring graduates can step confidently into their careers.Â
Students who take part in a campus visit are eligible for the $500 Campus Visit Scholarship, which can be combined with other financial aid opportunities. A campus visit also gives prospective students the chance to experience CIU’s Christ-centered community firsthand, tour the nursing labs, and connect with faculty and current students.Â
Online RN to BSN Scholarships
Students in the RN to BSN (Online) program may qualify for:Â
- The Partner Organization Scholarship, available to nurses employed by CIU’s partner healthcare providers or organizations.
On-Campus BSN Scholarships
Students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (on-campus) program can earn merit scholarships up to $12,000 per year, plus additional awards ranging from $1,500 annually to full tuition. Explore undergraduate scholarships here.Â
With these opportunities, CIU ensures students can answer God’s call to nursing while making a wise financial investment in their future.Â
