Description

The photographer videographer is responsible for all aspects of photography and videography projects managed by University Communications (UC). This includes meeting with university clients to conceptualize, script, schedule and edit videography and photography projects. This position also organizes and manages the storage of video and photography digital resources to maximize their effective use, assesses and updates photography and videography used on the website and in marketing materials, and manages student workers who assist with these functions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to meet video and photography goals and expectations.
  • Provide creative direction and outcomes for projects.
  • Develop script and production schedules for video projects.
  • Select locations for video and photo shoots.
  • Set up sets, procure any props or set design elements needed.
  • Operate equipment and supervise filming, including after-hours events.
  • Creatively edit material adding static/motion graphics, titling, music/voice-overs, editing footage and sound quality for videos.
  • Develop and maintain an organizational system for photography and videography assets that allows clients to access photos and videos they need.
  • Oversee hiring and supervision of student workers that assist with these projects.
  • Regularly review ciu.edu website and CIU marketing materials to identify missing or need for updated photography or videography materials; create and/or locate materials and work with UC team to implement.

Qualifications

  • Computer and Video and Photography Equipment Proficient: Experience in effectively using PCs and Mac computers and various software packages and video and photography equipment required to perform core functions (i.e. Final Cut Pro, Photoshop and Microsoft Office).

  • Flexible: Willingness to adjust one’s schedule in order to meet deadlines and/or to attend events that may require evenings and weekends; understands how to take constructive criticism and make necessary changes in designs effectively.

  • Five years of related experience preferred.
  • Creative ability and aesthetic judgment required.
  • Understanding of Christian schooling philosophy desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred.
