Description

Ben Lippen Lower School is seeking energetic, Christ-centered individuals to join our Summer Q.U.E.S.T. team. Our mission is to provide Quality, Unique, Extended School Time that feels like a true summer adventure. As a counselor, you will not just supervise; you will facilitate a fun, caring, and safe environment where students from PRE-K4–6th grade can explore, play, and grow. This role offers a balance of structured programming and supervised free-play, ensuring the “Ben Lippen Experience” continues throughout the summer.

Program begins Tuesday, May 26, 2026.  Schedule is Monday – Thursday / part-time / hours vary

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Facilitate the Fun: Actively lead and participate in indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring high engagement and a positive “camp vibe” for all students.
  • Safety & Vigilance: Implement QUEST policies to ensure the physical and emotional safety of every camper. This includes being aware of allergies, medical needs, and proper pick-up procedures.
  • Relational Leadership: Model effective behavior management and grace-filled discipline, turning conflict into opportunities for growth and character building.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain accurate records (attendance, incident reports) and ensure camp areas are clean, organized, and ready for adventure the next day.
  • Ambassador: Provide professional and friendly updates to parents during pick-up, sharing positive highlights of their child’s afternoon.

Qualifications

Education, Certification, and Work-Related Experience:

  • Faith First: Evidence of a mature personal Christian faith consistent with the Ben Lippen School Statement of Faith and a heart for ministry to children.
  • Age/Education: Minimum 15 years of age
  • Skills: Previous experience in childcare, camp counseling, or education is highly valued.
  • Certifications: Must be willing and able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification (training provided if necessary).
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to be active and outdoors in the South Carolina summer heat while maintaining high energy and enthusiasm.
