Description

The senior enrollment marketing manager manages the development, coordination, and execution of a comprehensive enrollment marketing strategy, including digital campaigns, email marketing, website optimization, content creation, and visual storytelling. The marketing manager oversees the coordination of internal and external resources to ensure timely and high-quality execution of marketing initiatives.  This role serves as a key driver of enrollment growth by developing compelling messaging, optimizing user experiences, and implementing data-informed strategies that strengthen engagement and support institutional enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

Admissions Marketing Strategy and Oversight

  • Deliver comprehensive performance reports across platforms for stakeholders, including quarterly and year-end reviews.
  • Continuously evaluate ongoing marketing initiatives to identify opportunities for enhancing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Drive consistent improvements based on assessments by pinpointing underperforming areas, formulating targeted strategies for optimization, and monitoring progress to ensure sustained performance advancement.
  • Oversee payments to external vendors and assist in managing, monitoring, and reporting yearly marketing expenses.

 

Email Marketing and Campaign Management

  • Manage email campaigns within the Salesforce CRM, ensuring consistent content updates and performance analysis.
  • Develop impactful messaging frameworks for prospective students and refine program narratives to maintain alignment with CIU’s brand voice.
  • Oversee outreach efforts for recruitment events and program-specific initiatives, including one-off email campaigns.
  • Automate and monitor communications, such as scheduler and event confirmation emails.

 

Content Creation and Graphic Design Management

  • Lead graphic design initiatives across all programs, utilizing tools such as Canva, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Develop and assist in distribution of print/digital materials to support admissions marketing strategies.
  • Craft persuasive and consistent copy for marketing materials that align with CIU’s brand standards.
  • Oversee and coordinate photo and video shoots, including planning shot lists, aligning content with marketing priorities, and ensuring brand consistency across visual assets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external creatives to capture high-quality content for digital campaigns, website, and print materials.

 

Website Management and Optimization

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date website content optimized for admissions and recruitment goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment Marketing to align strategies and produce high-impact digital marketing assets (e.g., ad copy, graphic design).
  • Apply SEO best practices, including strategic keyword implementation, metadata enhancements, and image optimization.
  • Develop and write SEO-optimized articles and web content to support program visibility, organic search performance, and AI-driven discovery.
  • Work with the Director of Enrollment Marketing and external vendor to identify, report, and implement website issues and improvements.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and collegiality through actions, interactions, and communications with others appropriate to an environment that is welcoming to all.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multi-channel marketing strategies, including email, web, social media, and digital advertising.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling, audience-focused content for both digital and print materials, including SEO-informed web content and high-impact recruitment pieces (e.g., billboards, brochures, viewbooks, and postcards).
  • Ability to translate complex academic programs into clear, engaging, and student-centered marketing content.
  • Proven ability to analyze marketing performance data and translate insights into actionable strategies that improve outcomes.
  • Experience managing vendors or contractors and coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar), email marketing platforms, and website content management systems.
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices, including keyword strategy, metadata optimization, and content structure.
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools such as GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
  • Strong design sensibility and experience collaborating on or directing visual content (graphics, photo, and video).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high level of accountability and ownership.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to support events and initiatives that may require occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external partners in a collaborative environment.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in marketing, preferably in higher education admissions.
  • Expertise with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Experience with website editing software, such as WordPress and Elementor preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
