Description

Ben Lippen School is seeking a lower school music teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The lower school music teacher will cultivate an engaging, relational, and joy-filled learning environment for young students. We seek an educator who demonstrates creativity, maintains a strong work ethic, thinks innovatively, and collaborates effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Create well-planned lessons and teach through a Biblical worldview
  • Implement instructional activities where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
  • Develop best teaching practices to adapt teaching methods, instructional materials, and learning opportunities to meet students’ varying needs and interests
  • Assess student progress through observations, assignments, and assessments, and communicate and collaborate with parents, other teachers, and administrators
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals
  • Integrate technology to enhance classroom instruction
  • Provide strong instruction in music literacy, ear training, singing, and basic instruments, preparing students for performance-based music classes at the middle school level
  • Lead worship in lower school chapels
  • Plan, prepare, and execute musical programs twice a year with Pre-K3–4th grade students
  • Collaborate with the fine arts director and fine arts team for vertical alignment and whole-school productions
  • Implement effective classroom management and discipline procedures to cultivate a positive classroom environment conducive to learning

Qualifications

  • Give testimony of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Agree with and adhere to the CIU/BLS Statement of Faith.
  • Model Christ-like character at school and away from school.
  • At least two years of elementary music teaching preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in music education required; master’s degree preferred.
