Description

IT Help Desk student worker position to assist with help desk support at CIU. Position provides assistance via phone, email, and in-person and works from the CIU Library and/or Jones Center. Some work may need to be done in other locations around campus.

Responsibilities

1. Provides general technology customer service for students in the computer labs, with their CIU account issues, and with general information technology questions or issues.
2. Responsible for creating and assigning tickets for higher-level information technology support as well as resolving tickets when able to.
3. Assist faculty/staff with installing approved software (such as Zoom).
4. Assist with reporting Pine View Wifi issues to internet provider.
5. Makes and manages student, staff and faculty ID cards.
6. Manages the printing system, Papercut, and credit card transactions. Refills printers with paper, toner, and staplers with staples. Escalates printing or accounting issues to appropriate IT as needed.
7. Cleans and organizes the student computer lab.
8. Responsible for assisting the Chapel & Classroom team with Audio and Video help when necessary, including resets of display screens and MVIX devices across campus.
9. Assist IT staff with testing websites, software, applications and systems to ensure functionality.
10. Assist IT staff with cataloging and maintaining technical documentation for the department.
