Description

The head women’s basketball coach provides visionary leadership and a strategic plan for the women’s basketball program. The coach will supervise, coordinate and manage all aspects of the women’s intercollegiate basketball program, including the recruitment, development, and spiritual leadership of its student athletes.

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the head women’s basketball coach to manage the women’s basketball team including, but not limited to:

Successfully teach and coach and conduct all practices, including all preparation of facilities and equipment for practice.
Ability to recruit student-athletes that reflect the core values and mission of CIU.
Successfully coach all home and away games, demonstrating an understanding of Christian leadership.
Embrace all aspects of developing, managing and running a women’s basketball program, working independently and cooperatively with all CIU athletics and institution staff.
Actively work with CIU athletic administration to fundraise to help cover program needs.
Comply with all NAIA, NCCAA, and AAC policies, guidelines, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Understand the game of basketball and particularly intercollegiate basketball.
Teach and coach the game of basketball to women.
Ability to work independently in all aspects of recruiting and management of the program.
Display consistent Christian leadership while displaying a professional demeanor at all times.
Utilize current technology as it relates to communication and promotion of CIU and the basketball team.
Ability to work within budget parameters set by the director of athletics.
Basketball coaching experience required; college basketball coaching experience preferred.
Demonstrated Christian ministry experience directly or indirectly involved with basketball.
Bachelor’s degree required.
