Description

The Director of the Engage Program will play a critical role in delivering exceptional education and support within the program. The role combines teaching, student advising, curriculum development, and mentor training responsibilities to ensure program excellence and growth. This position is designed with scalability in mind, with responsibilities and contributions evolving as the program expands.

Responsibilities

  1. Teaching & Course Development:
    • Teach four courses per year, ensuring high-quality instruction and student engagement.
    • Reevaluate course load periodically as the program grows, adjusting responsibilities as needed.
    • Revise and update course projects to reflect best practices and emerging trends in the field.
    • Oversee grading of most student projects, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  2. Advising & Mentoring:
    • Serve as an academic advisor to students, supporting their academic and professional development.
    • Mentor and train other program mentors, fostering a strong and collaborative mentoring culture.
    • Provide resources, strategies, and feedback to enhance mentors’ effectiveness and growth.
  3. Program Growth & Development:
    • Contribute to long-term program planning, including evaluating curriculum effectiveness and student outcomes.
    • In two to three years, revisit and reassess responsibilities related to student recruitment and program promotion.

Qualifications

  • A strong academic background and professional experience in pastoral ministry.
  • Proven teaching experience, with a focus on student-centered learning and project-based education.
  • Experience in mentoring, advising, or leading professional development initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and adaptability to evolving program needs.
  • Experience in church-related ministry.
  • Commitment to cross-cultural ministry (some cross-cultural ministry experience preferred).
  • Teaching experience in theological education (preferred).
  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Th.D., D. Min. will be considered) from an accredited institution, with content preferably in practical theology; ABD will be considered.
