Description

Full-time faculty position to teach courses in the Doctor of Business Administration program. Faculty must be able to advance the evangelical Christian mission of the institution.  The faculty member will teach graduate-level students in business studies and collaborate with adjunct faculty and contracted administration personnel in administering goals, program development, and program activities. The position would also include assuming the role of program director. Programs include the Doctor in Business Administration (DBA). The teaching load is 18 semester hours annually. The position would be a fully remote faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for all DBA program courses.
  • Includes the role of program director for the DBA.
  • Teach up to six (18) college-level courses per year (18 semester hours) across the field of business, including courses in the areas of Applied/Real World Research, Business Analytics, and Strategy and Innovation, among other business courses.
  • Advise students within the DBA program as needed.
  • Interact with prospective students as needed.
  • Endorse and model professional standards and proficiencies.
  • Serve on committees as assigned within the university.
  • Assist regularly with the assessment of CIU’s DBA curriculum.
  • Participate in faculty meetings at the college and university level; attend other appropriate events, including graduation and conferences.
  • Yearly affirm the institution’s mission, doctrinal position, community standards, and CIU’s position on human origins (Faculty Guide).

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching doctoral-level business courses preferred.
  • Knowledge of the disciplines associated with organizational leadership and research.
  • Ability to teach effectively at the graduate level.
  • Competency in utilizing learning management tools and classroom technology.
  • Competent in or able to learn and facilitate online education.
  • Ability to use technology effectively in teaching as appropriate.
  • An understanding of the needs and trends associated with working adult non-traditional students.
  • Commitment to CIU’s mission and vision.
  • Commitment to live within the standards of the CIU community.
  • Doctorate of Business Administration in business studies or related discipline from an accredited university.
