Description

The Director of IT Operations directs infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity operations for all corporate CIU technology. The Director of IT Operations leads a team of Information Technology (IT) staff and third-party support vendors to meet and align with corporate business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the design and support of the campus infrastructure and the IT staff and third-party vendors who support day-to-day operations and related projects.
  • Oversee the monitoring, testing, evaluation, optimization, and budget of the campus infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to external vendors and internal staff on physical infrastructure modifications as needed.
  • Direct the cybersecurity and compliance activities of the organization, ensuring data security aligned with policies and regulations.
  • Lead IT staff and third-party support vendors to monitor campus systems and respond timely to threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Direct IT continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and procedures to ensure resiliency among the corporate infrastructure.
  • Assist the CIO and other university leaders in the cost scoping of technology infrastructure, software/applications, and end-point devices for multi-year capital technology expense planning.
  • Manage the development and cataloging of all IT procedures, diagrams, logs, third-party vendor matrix, and other documentation for the IT department, in addition to reviewing quality of documentation under best practices and frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, CMMI).
  • Supervise IT staff and direct third-party vendors and contractors supporting the infrastructure, systems, and technology operations.
  • Establish training schedules and plans to ensure adequate skills and certifications are held by IT staff.

Qualifications

  • Five to seven years’ experience in managing technology operations, infrastructure or systems support.
  • Experience managing network, telephony, or cloud support vendors preferred.
  • Experience managing network implementation or modernization projects helpful.
  • SFIA, COBIT, or CMMI framework knowledge a plus.
  • CGEIT, CISM, or ITILv3 or higher certification required.
  • CISSP or equivalent certification helpful.
  • MCSE or equivalent certification a plus.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field required.
