The leaves are starting to turn colors on the CIU campus, and the hot and humid days of a long South Carolina summer are giving way to warm days and cool nights. Time for the annual Fall Fiesta!
At one of the most anticipated events on the CIU calendar, students enjoyed excellent food, music, autumn October activities and an atmosphere with a Hispanic theme.
With small tealights illuminating the path, students hiked down to the pavilion next to the CIU Lake, as the chilly air drew them to gather by the bonfires.
Strung about the pavilion were lights and Latin-themed decorations to add to the party atmosphere. With pumpkin painting, line dancing and henna tattoos, there was no shortage of attractions for the students to enjoy.
The food was catered by Moe’s, plus there was hot apple cider, self-roasted s’mores, and apple nachos (apple slices smothered with melted chocolate, caramel, and nuts). Yum!
The music was a mix of English and Spanish, as line dances filled the pavilion with students dancing to their favorite songs.
As the night progressed, one student commented, “I love the Fall Fiesta every year, the (line) dancing is my favorite.” Others shared similar sentiments, saying that the Fall Fiesta is their favorite CIU event.
