Dr. TK Dunn came to Columbia International University from the United Kingdom where he lived until he was in his mid-20s. After serving the College of Arts and Science for five years, during which time he established a History Minor, he now serves as Professor of Church History and Systematic Theology in the Seminary and School of Counseling. He is also Lead Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Dr. Dunn is married to his wife, Yesenia, who is a Nurse Practitioner. They enjoy cooking (or, specifically, eating), walking, hiking, watching crime shows on tv, and playing with their dogs, Wellington and Kuzco. They have one son, Arthur. Tim plays the saxophone, guitar, and piano (though not all at once), writes music and hymns, and is nervously excited as an Arsenal F.C. fan. He likes to play soccer, ping pong, and badminton when given the opportunity.
His current research topics are the Trinity, theology and reception of the Reformation(s), aspects of Church History, the ministry and theology of P.T. Forsyth, William Tyndale, and the biblical foundations of systems of theology. He is also an avid hymnwriter and his family band, Celtic Ceys, released their first album of homespun hymns in 2026.
Current writing projects are “Introducing the Reformation(s)” (IVP, 2029), The Fatherhood of the Father (Energion, 2026), Heroes and Heretics: Applying Church History, and A Theological Methodology.
He currently serves as PhD mentor to three PhD candidates. Although unable to currently add more students for mentoring at this time, future candidates may consider contacting him regarding topics on the Reformation(s), systematic theology, and the Trinity.
He teaches courses on Theology (undergraduate), Systematic Theology (postgraduate), Church History, Leadership in Ministry, and Doctoral Seminars.
In his (fleeting) spare time, he is also writing a kids historical fiction series (The Secret History Club) and an adult fictional series on the Persian Wars.
