Biography

Dr. Shenika Jones joined the Counseling Program at CIU in the Fall of 2025. With degrees in Counselor Education, School Counseling, and Physical Education, her teaching philosophy is rooted in a holistic perspective, focusing on the development of the whole student. With over a decade of experience in higher education, Dr. Jones is passionate about training the next generation of counselors, equipping them to serve their clients with empathy, integrity, and ethical practice.

In addition to her role as an educator, Dr. Jones is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), licensed professional counselor in North and South Carolina, and maintains a private practice, specializing in therapy for personal injury clients.

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and has a passion for exploring new destinations around the world.
