Biography
Shalane Conrads is passionate about encouraging her students to cultivate and take ownership of their own writing voice and style. For many writers, staring at a blank page can feel incredibly daunting, and investing in your writing voice is hard but essential work.
In Mrs. Conrads’ classroom, writing is a process of discovery. Her heart is for her students to not only gain proficiency and professionalism in their writing style, but also to realign their relationship with writing itself. She seeks to foster a classroom that constantly reminds students that their true identity is in Christ, not in what others think of their writing, and not in their academic status as a student.
Shalane loves and appreciates an eclectic assortment of literary genres but heavily favors American literature. In her free time, she enjoys running with her husband, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her daughters.
