Biography
Dr. Kim is a cell and molecular biologist with nearly 30 years of teaching and research experience. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and has held academic and research appointments at Washington University in St. Louis, The George Washington University, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Liberty University. He joined Columbia International University in July 2024. Dr. Kim’s research explores how nutrients and metabolites regulate cellular functions, shedding light on the molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic disorders such as diabetes and cancer. He views scientific inquiry as a way to appreciate the order and complexity of God’s creation and is deeply committed to mentoring undergraduate students, guiding them to integrate faith, learning, and research in the pursuit of truth.
