Andre Rogers

Dr. Andre M. Rogers has faithfully served at Columbia International University since 2000, bringing together decades of experience in higher education, pastoral ministry, and academic leadership. He began as a member of the undergraduate faculty teaching Bible and Pastoral Ministries before joining the Seminary and School of Counseling in 2010, where he taught Preaching and Doctor of Ministry courses. He also served as Special Assistant to the President (2020–2022) and Dean of Students (2022–2024). Today, he serves as Chair of the Bible Division and Church Ministry in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Before joining CIU, Dr. Rogers served in pastoral ministry in South Carolina and Texas as an associate pastor, assistant pastor, and youth minister. He is also a church planter and continues to pastor a congregation in the Columbia area. Ordained through the Gethsemane Baptist Association, he remains active in the Southern Baptist Convention and has spoken at conferences and ministry events, including Lifeway. His preaching and leadership training have taken him to Canada, Belize, Angola, Brazil, Mexico, Jamaica, and other countries.

Dr. Rogers and his wife, Sylvia, have been married for nearly three decades and are the proud parents of two daughters who faithfully serve the Lord through their professions.

As a professor of Bible, preaching, and church ministry, Dr. Rogers is passionate about preparing biblically grounded ministry leaders. His teaching combines theological depth with practical ministry experience, equipping students to love God’s Word, follow Christ faithfully, and serve the Church with conviction and excellence.
