Tina (Winchester) Walker joined the CIU Faculty in 2011. Previously, she taught English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to adult immigrants from all over the world for seventeen years. Prior to teaching adult immigrants English, Tina taught elementary and middle school students with Learning Disabilities for twelve years. She served as an ESOL teacher trainer for the South Carolina State Department of Education, Office of Adult Education from 2008 to 2020. Additionally, Walker has presented at a number of statewide ESOL conferences. She taught US Citizenship classes to immigrants in the Columbia area from 2015 to 2021.
Tina married Steve Walker in 2019. She has four stepchildren and five grandchildren. At CIU, she enjoys mentoring future TESOL teachers and younger women, as well as connecting CIU students with local immigrant and TESOL ministry opportunities. In her free time, Tina enjoys taking long walks and short swims, connecting with close friends, and traveling with her husband to visit family and friends.
