Ezekiel Ministries, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to mentoring youth in the Midlands of South Carolina, announced the appointment of Columbia International University alumnus Christian Markle as its new executive director, effective June 9.
Markle graduated from CIU in 2013 with majors in Bible and Communication.
Headquartered in Columbia, Ezekiel Ministries partners with local churches to recruit Christian mentors who make long-term investments in children’s lives. Through after-school programs and one-to-one community-based mentoring, the organization aims to strengthen families and transform communities by nurturing the spiritual, academic and social development of children.
Markle’s resume includes nearly a decade of leadership experience in serving marginalized communities and advancing mission-driven development. He has held key roles at Oliver Gospel Mission and Healthy Learners, both located in Columbia.
“I’m truly honored to join Ezekiel Ministries and be part of the incredible work God is already doing through this life-changing ministry,” Markle said in an Ezekiel Ministries news release. “I can’t wait to come alongside our amazing team, partners, supporters, and the families we serve to help one more child flourish through the love and guidance of a caring mentor from our local church communities.”
