Church planter, Equipper, Teacher. Paul (’62) graduated from the Bible College in 1962 and then earned a Master of Divinity degree from Denver Seminary in 1965. He married Carol, and together they pastored two churches, one in Mexico City and the other in Arizona. From 1972 to 1992, they served as church planters in Madrid, Spain where along with Alfonso Guevara, he planted the Aluche church. In 1984, Paul founded the WorldTeam Institute of Church Planting, a month-long intentional community for training church planters. In 1990, Paul and Carol left Spain and dedicated their efforts to training Cuban church planters. In 2003, they relocated to the Dominican Republic in order to focus on a new effort called Casa Yada, a ministry providing “intentional training in a community context.” Paul and Carol’s goal was to equip Latin Americans to reach their own people and then the world with the Gospel. Carol’s greatest contribution was as homemaker, discipleship, and counseling. Now retired, Paul and Carol live with their daughter Shelley in Atlanta, GA. They have three married children and five grandchildren.
