Alumnus of the Year 2014
Pastor, Missionary, Translator. Bill (’50) and his late wife, Elaine (’50), served for over thirty years in Ethiopia teaching pastors and helping grow hundreds of new congregations. They went to Ethiopia in 1954 with SIM, studied Amharic and achieved what he called “a joyful fluency that allowed me to preach.” In February 2013, Harding Bible School, a school that honors the Harding’s efforts, opened and continues today to reach far beyond traditional missionary work. Bill and his wife Betty continue to serve God with SIM.
