Description

The head men’s baseball coach provides visionary and strategic leadership for the men’s baseball program. The coach will supervise, coordinate and manage all aspects of the men’s intercollegiate baseball program, including the recruitment, development, and spiritual leadership of its student athletes.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate the ability to integrate faith into coaching; be a Christlike role model in attitude, speech, character and conduct.
Develop and implement game strategy and assignments, demonstrating competitive excellence.
Recruit quality prospective student-athletes that fit the mission and culture of CIU; coordinates with necessary departments and participates in campus-recruitment activities and events.
Plan all coaching and practice sessions in accordance with NAIA and NCCAA regulations, including all preparation of facilities and equipment for practice.
Manage all operational, fiscal and administrative activities for the Men’s Varsity and JV Baseball programs, including fundraising.
Maintain the baseball field, equipment and uniforms for the program.
Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student-athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics program and the university.
Maintain proper eligibility requirements with the NAIA, NCCAA and the university.
Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the athletic director and/or administration.

Qualifications

Possess strong and consistent Christian leadership while displaying a professional demeanor at all times.
Demonstrated competitive excellence and successful experience as an intercollegiate baseball coach
Ability to work independently in all aspects of recruiting and management of the program
Ability to work within budget parameters set by the university and athletics director and fundraise for the program.
Intercollegiate baseball coaching experience required.
Demonstrated Christian ministry experience.
Valid commercial driver license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required.
