Ted Wingo served for almost 25 years in the mountains of northern Mexico among the Western Tarahumara, doing Bible translation, teaching, and discipleship. Leaving Mexico in 2016, he has been an adjunct instructor at CIU since 2018. He and his wife Sharon consider themselves advocates for people groups with no gospel access.
Ted and Sharon met at CIU, then Columbia Bible College, and married shortly after graduation in 1978. Their two children, Anne (also a CIU grad) and James, have given them five precious grandchildren. All live in the Columbia area — which is totally a God-thing! One of Ted’s favorite pastimes is being with his grandkids, never tiring of creating games for and playing with them. He also enjoys swimming and listening to audio books.
