Description

The evening custodian is responsible for maintaining the Ben Lippen campus facilities during the evening in an attractive and clean manner and performing other related custodial tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities

Clean restrooms according to prescribed manner.
Vacuum/sweep areas that are assigned.
Maintain classrooms in orderly fashion.
Clean locker rooms according to prescribed manner.
Maintain hallways, lobbies, and office area in orderly fashion.
Empty all trash containers.
Be alert for areas that need custodial attention and take appropriate action.
Be alert for fire or safety hazards and notify supervisor.
Be alert for any security problems, especially after hours, and notify supervisor.
Mop/sweep tiled areas as assigned.
Dust/clean surfaces and areas as assigned.
Clean windows according to schedule.
Assist in moving furniture and other items.
Assist in maintenance tasks.
Assist in setting up for board meetings and other events.
May be required to assist maintenance and custodial staff in performing scheduled tasks during Christmas and Spring breaks.
May be required to work overtime.
May be required to work day shift during summer.
Perform other custodial duties as required by supervisor.

Qualifications

Ability to use cleaning equipment such as vacuums, brooms, mops, etc.
Minimum ability in use of hand tools.
Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
Ability to relate to young people.
Ability to observe areas that need attention and take appropriate action.
Able to assist in medium to heavy lifting.
Able to be flexible.
High school diploma.
One year of custodial experience preferred.
