Description

The plumber/appliance repair technician maintains, repairs, and installs plumbing equipment, fixtures, and systems, and maintains and repairs residential and commercial kitchen appliances.

Responsibilities

The plumber/appliance repair technician will:

  • Perform routine maintenance of plumbing equipment, fixtures, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair toilets, faucets, water heaters, expansion tanks, valves, drinking fountains, etc.
  • Replace/install plumbing equipment and fixtures.
  • Perform minor plumbing projects.
  • Monitor sewage lift stations.
  • Monitor grease traps, schedule grease trap service and manage documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair residential and commercial kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, steam cookers, microwaves, mixers, ice machines, dishwashers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, etc.
  • Submit work orders.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Broad plumbing knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial kitchen equipment repair.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of power and hand tools.
  • Ability to use a variety of test equipment such as meters, gauges, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment, research problems, find solutions.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects safely.
  • Must be able to understand and use technology.
  • Must be able work independently, be able to prioritize tasks and manage time well.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • One-year technical school plumbing certificate preferred.
  • Residential and commercial kitchen equipment repair experience preferred.
  • Two years plumbing or general maintenance experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
