Description

The Director of Corporate IT leads and oversees the CIU information security program as the GLBA Qualified Individual, sets direction, budget, and priorities for IT, makes sure the security program is designed, reviewed, and reported, and is responsible for working with executive, administrative and IT personnel across the corporate division to provide efficient and cost-effective solutions and support of institutional information systems necessary for ensuring effectiveness of the teaching-learning processes, educational programs, and operational systems. The Director of Corporate IT exercises leadership in assembling, developing, and evaluating a team of information professional and support personnel in order to facilitate planning, research, acquisition, configuration, implementation, maintenance and security of information technology systems that support the business and academic processes within both divisions (Ben Lippen School and Higher Education) of the corporate institution.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee, implement, enforce, and annually update the Information Security Program as the Qualified Individual. Manage security exceptions/compensating controls (with vCISO input) and ensure CIU security standards apply across shared domain systems (Ben Lippen and Kepha).

  1. Lead the annual review of IT policies/standards for Administrative Council approval. Review technology requests through the IT Architecture Subcommittee (providing reports to the CFO for purchases over $5,000), manage the IT Standards page, evaluate donated equipment, and enforce acceptable use policies in coordination with HR and Student Life.

  1. Ensure regular vulnerability scans (at least semi-annually) and annual penetration testing take place. Maintain the Incident Response Plan, test it semi-annually via tabletop exercises, and lead incident response (with the IT Operations Manager as deputy).

  1. Lead IT managers—owning staffing, skills development, succession planning, and organization-wide security awareness training (including supervisor onboarding and e-signature tools).
