College students enjoy competing for bragging rights. That’s why winning the House Cup is a big deal at Columbia International University. The trophy is bestowed on the residence hall that has accumulated the most points at the end of the school year through various competitions and achievements called the House Collective.
As the school year drew to a close, all residence halls met in Shortess Chapel for The House Summit and the big announcement of the House Cup victor. Cheers erupted when the women’s residence hall named Dignitas was announced as the winner.
“To be honest, I wasn’t expecting the award, but it felt great when we got it,” said freshman Milijana Zmuric.
Also recognized were current Residence Life staff and incoming RAs and Campus Life Coordinators (CLC) for next school year.
“My experience was great this year,” Zmuric said. “My RA and CLC did a great job – they were responsible and they took really good care of our hall and of each girl too.”
