Faculty, PhD in Organizational Leadership

Description

Organizational leadership faculty position to teach courses in leadership studies.  The faculty member must be able to advance the evangelical Christian mission of the institution. The faculty member will teach graduate-level students in leadership studies, and collaborate with adjunct faculty and contracted administration personnel in administering goals, program development, and program activities in the PhD in Organizational Leadership (POL). The teaching load is 30 semester hours annually.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for all POL and MOL program courses.
  • Teach up to ten (10) college-level courses per year (30 semester hours) across the field of leadership, including courses in the areas of organizational leadership, organizational behavior, organizational team building, and strategic planning, among other leadership courses. 
  • Advise students within the POL program as needed
  • Interact with prospective students as needed 
  • Endorse and model professional standards and proficiencies
  • Serve on committees as assigned within the university
  • Assist regularly with assessment of CIU’s organizational leadership curriculum
  • Participate in faculty meetings at the college and university level; attend other appropriate events, including graduation and conferences.
  • Yearly affirm the institution’s mission, doctrinal position, community standards, and CIU’s position on human origins (Faculty Guide)

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching doctoral level organizational leadership courses preferred.
  • Knowledge of the disciplines associated with organizational leadership and research
  • Ability to teach effectively at the graduate level 
  • Competency in utilizing learning management tools and classroom technology
  • Competent in or able to learn and facilitate online education 
  • Ability to use technology effectively in teaching as appropriate 
  • An understanding of the needs and trends associated with working adult non-traditional students 
  • Commitment to CIU’s mission and vision
  • Commitment to live within the standards of the CIU community
  • PhD degree in leadership studies or related discipline from an accredited university;
