Why did you choose Columbia International University?
Columbia's extension program is one of the easiest for those of us who are ministering in another country. The choice of classes and the option to take a good part of the program through extension as well as the high academic standards made the decision to go with Columbia much easier.
What is your program of study?
Master's of Arts in Theology through the Access CIU program.
What is your current occupation and location (if appropriate)?
I am Youth Ministry International's director of training for Latin America. My family and I live in Mexico City and have the privilege of working throughout Latin America.
What do you like best about CIU?
There are so many things that I love about CIU, but I would have to say the flexibility to study what really will help me in my ministry has been one of my favorite things about CIU. I love being able to take what I learn today in the classroom and directly apply it to my context.
What has been your favorite class at CIU and why?
My favorite class at CIU was Understanding Cultures and Worldviews with Dr. Cashin and Dr. Larkin. The content of the class and the projects helped me incredibly in understanding and thinking strategically about ministry in Latin America. I also really enjoyed Biblical Theology of Missions with Dr. Steyne, where I had the chance to see God's heart for the nations throughout both the Old and New Testaments.
What do you want to do after graduation from CIU?
I want to continue working in Latin America with youth pastors and leaders who are directly impacting the lives of thousands of young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
