Peggie came to CIU as a Seminary student in 2001. Choosing CIU was easy after reading the online love story of R.C. McQuilkin as he cared for his ailing wife. After graduation in 2003 she was hired and continues to work at CIU.
Peggie was born and reared in Saluda, South Carolina and loves working with children and women. She is a pastor's wife who is involved in many aspects of Church ministry; married to Richard Johnson for almost forty one years (August 6, 1970). She is the mother of three sons, two daughters-in-love and four grandchildren. She teachers and supervises students at CIU in cross-cultural Bible teaching of children and youth in the Columbia and West Columbia communities.
Peggie’s passions include loving and seeking God’s will, spending time with her grandchildren, evangelism, sewing, reading, learning and sharing dynamics of diverse cultures. Recently she gained a special love for the people of Belize, Central America after traveling there, and is involved with her church in praying and helping to meet some of their needs in the Primary School in the village of Barranco through short term missions’ trips. She is also involved in ministries to Primary schools in West Africa.
