Columbia International University offers individual online courses for our undergraduate and graduate programs. The Seminary & School of Ministry offers both individual courses and degree programs through a combination of online courses and concentrated classroom experiences.
CIU's online courses are flexible, biblically-based, accredited courses that can be taken from anywhere in the world. Courses can be applied toward a certificate or degree, or taken for personal enrichment.
Most courses run about 13-16 weeks in length, with weekly assignments and learning activities. Reading assignments are supplemented by short online presentations by the professor, online topical discussions, a study guide or lesson notes, learning activities, online quizzes or exams, and course projects and papers.
Course materials (except for published textbooks) are available to registered students and all assignments can be submitted electronically through the course website. Most classes use asynchronous discussions, so you don’t have to be available at a certain time each week for “class.”
