Bachelor - Youth Ministry, Family, and Culture
Why did you choose Columbia International University?
I wanted to study the Bible at a deeper level and I wanted to learn more about Jesus - the One who saved me and gave me purpose in life. Also, I felt like CIU was the best option to be equipped for a life of ministry to the next generation.
What has been your favorite class at CIU and why?
My favorite class so far has been Old Testament Survey for two reasons. First, I walked away with a better understanding of the Old Testament as a whole. Second, I loved Dr. Crutchfield's quotes during lectures such as "It's the life that preaches." During class, I would get so excited to see his passion for us, the students, to live out the truths he was teaching us from the Old Testament.
What do you like best about CIU?
Several things! I really enjoy the chapels here because it is so nice to be able to take a break from class, studying, and other activities to be refreshed through worship and the teaching of Scripture. Also, I love how available the professors are and their desire to see us become more Christ-like. Finally, the fellowship with other students is so encouraging; there's nothing like being surrounded by others who love the Lord deeply and want to serve Him completely. I'm so thankful for the people God has put in my life here at CIU.
What do you plan to do after graduation from CIU?
Lord willing, I want to pursue the passion God has given me for youth ministry as a youth pastor, Bible teacher, or in some other way. I want to go wherever He wants.
