Steve was born and reared in Columbia, S.C. He graduated from CIU and moved to North Carolina to teach Bible in a public school. He also taught Bible in public schools in Liberia, West Africa, where he served as a missionary with SIM. He met his wife in Liberia, and his first child was born there. After leaving Liberia, Steve worked as a headmaster of a school on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Steve considers teaching students to be Bible teachers a great blessing and privilege. He also is enjoying living in South Carolina again. After 17 years at Columbia International University, Steve ventured into an exciting opportunity to help develop a new Christian University in the Yucatan State of Mexico. He is currently working from his office in Columbia, South Carolina, and continues to teach as an adjunct faculty member for CIU. When not working, Steve and his family often may be found on the soccer field, watching or playing.
