Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will be responsible for the College and its Master of Arts in Counseling program, that offers professional training in clinical mental health counseling within a biblical worldview in order to provide Christ-like therapeutic relationships for healing and growth. The program provides the requirements for the academic coursework and clinical training for licensure as a Professional Counselor Intern (LPCI) in the state of South Carolina. The College is currently pursing accreditation through CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) for its master’s program.


The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision or a closely related discipline. Graduation from a CACREP- approved program is preferred. Candidates should have appropriate credentials and be eligible for licensure as a mental health provider in South Carolina. Professional identity with the counseling profession is required. Experience in teaching and supervision is essential. Successful candidates will show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, agreement with the CIU Doctrinal Standard and Community Standards, and be committed to the integration of Christian faith in teaching and practice.
