The faculty member in the Business and Organizational Leadership (BOL) program provides strategic support to the BOL program, including instructing, interacting with, and advising students within the program, and teaching up to 8 courses per year (24 semester hours) within an undergraduate business and organizational leadership program or in general education areas associated with the business program.
Primary responsibilities include teaching up to eight (8) undergraduate courses per year (24 semester hours), including introductory business courses and upper level courses in finance, accounting, and operations management; Assisting in training students via internships and practicum experiences within the community and internationally; Advising and counseling students within the program; Working with the program director and deal to provide strategic support for the program; Assisting in the ongoing refinement of the BOL curriculum to ensure its consistency with CIU's institutional mission and with cutting edge BOL philosophy and practice; Working with program director to advise the library regarding acquisition and preservation of relevant materials (print and electronic); Assisting the program director in the review of best practices in business in order to incorporate them into the curriculum based on the standards of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE); Working within the program budget; Serving on assigned university committees; Attending faculty meetings and appropriate campus events; Affirming annually the institution's mission, doctrinal position, and community standards.
An earned doctorate (PhD or DBA) in a discipline related to business, management, or organizations from an accredited University is preferred; an MBA or equivalent is the minimum required. Experience is entrepreneurial, business, and/or corporate enterprise in the US and/or abroad (prefer someone with significant international background and/or ministry and missions experience). Some formal biblical-theological training preferred. Preference given to individuals with at least three years of experienced teaching at the college level. Multi-lingual ability desired.
