John L. Cooley is the firm president and partner of WootenHart, LLC in Roanoke, Virginia.  He is a member of: Roanoke and Virginia State Bar Associations; Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys; Defense Research Institute; and International Association of Defense Counsel.  He  has published various articles on employment and related issues for non-profit and religious orientated organizations. Dr. Cooley also writes for the Question and Answer column in Legal Legislative Update and Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI), and answers the ACSI Legal Hot Line. He is a regular ACSI conference and seminar speaker, on topics including general liability issues, employment law, and constitutional issues affecting private religious schools.
