The development of students, To Know Him and To Make Him Known, is at the heart of College of Education purpose.  Faculty members are called upon to embody and to implement CIU’s purpose and mission, as well as the educational philosophy and the conceptual framework of the College of Education.  This is accomplished by facilitating student growth in biblical knowledge, spiritual maturity, ministry orientation, and the professional skills necessary for service in a  variety of cultural contexts.  College of Education faculty members carry responsibility for such instructional activities as classroom teaching, student mentoring, advising, and ministry supervision/coaching.  They are also stewards of educational programs and policies. 

Primary responsibility is teaching and mentoring students, and working as a team with other faculty for all undergraduate and graduate programs. Depending on background, gifting, and skills, there would be a possibility to coordinate and/or direct a program within the College of Education. General faculty responsibilities include modeling Christ-like living and service; instruction; student advising; recruitment; student activities/relations; practice of ministry; professional development and scholarly competence; and general contribution to institutional effectiveness. Specific College of Education (COE)responsibilities include support the implementation of accreditation processes; represent COE on committees and to the University's constituencies; contribute to COE and supervise a program as needed; and assist development in raising funds to support both program development and student recruitment.

Accredited Ed.D or Ph.D. in education, preferably with emphasis in Educational Foundations, Higher Education, Administration, Leadership or Curriculum. Commitment to the preparation of leaders for Kingdom Education work. Previous experience in academic administration as a principal or headmaster of Christian School and/or higher education administrator. Previous postsecondary teaching experience. Familiarity with national, state, and ACSI leadership standards. Familiarity with standards-based assessment principles. Cross-cultural experience desirable.
