Youth Workers Retreat to CIU

February 17, 2011

About two dozen alumni of the Youth Ministries program at Columbia International University returned to their alma mater for the third annual CIU Youth Worker Retreat Feb. 7-9.  The time of renewal, rest and refreshment was led by Program Director Dr. David Olshine, and Youth Ministry professors Dr. Karen Grant and Dr. Sam Rubinson.

Worship, fellowship and times of deep discussion on topics relevant to youth ministry were a part of a packed agenda.

Among those participating was Bill Winton from the class of 1989.  He’s now the junior high youth pastor at Christian Family Chapel in Jacksonville, Fla.  He offered this reflection on the retreat:

The Alumni Youth Leaders Retreat is one more reason that Columbia International University is an amazing school.  At the retreat, current Youth Ministry professors spiritually invested in the lives of alumni from the last 22 years who are presently serving in local churches in youth ministry.  Spiritual refreshment, ministry skill development and connecting with old and new friends were highlights of the three days.  Thank you CIU.
