Missionary Statesman, CIU Distinguished Alumnus with the Lord

1992 CIU Distinguished Alumnus Dr. Edwin Frizen

Dr. Edwin “Jack” Frizen, a 1992 Columbia International University Distinguished Alumnus and missionary statesman passed into the presence of the Lord on Dec. 22, 2012. He was 87 years old.

Known to many as “Uncle Jack,” Frizen graduated from CIU in 1950 with a Master of Arts degree.

Frizen’s extensive missionary experience included executive leadership with the Interdenominational Foreign Missions Association (IFMA), the launch of SEND International and acting U.S. director for Pioneers-USA. He also served as an officer and board member of a number of Christian organizations.    

A memorial service is planned for Jan. 11 at Wycliffe Bible Translators Volunteer Center in Orlando, Fla.
