Homecoming 2012: The Power of One

Homecoming 2012: The Power of One

For the first time, a CIU homecoming will feature intercollegiate athletics when the CIU Rams play Talledega College.

Columbia International University alumni from around the world will come together as one from Nov. 1-3 for Homecoming 2012 under the theme “The Power of One.”  It’s a celebration of God’s power to weave together unique personalities, generations, backgrounds and cultures into one body.  It’s also an opportunity for alumni to share stories of what God is doing in their lives, and to witness the exciting new developments on the campus of CIU.

For example, this will be the first CIU Homecoming featuring an intercollegiate athletic event when the CIU Rams men’s soccer team takes on Talladega College at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Traditional CIU Homecoming activities include class reunions, worship with former members of the Ambassador Choir, and the annual CIU Bowl – also known as the North/South football games.  The games will be preceded by the Fifth Annual Chili Cook-Off, featuring free samples of the entries.

The 2012 Alumna of the Year will be honored at a special chapel and breakfast.  Kumiko Jean Takeuchi, a member of the CIU class of 1978, is retired from Eli Lilly and Company where she worked as a research scientist for 20 years.
